MAKING A BASIC BRACELET USING STRETCH.

MAKING A BASIC BRACELET USING STRETCH.

One of the most common materials used in making bracelets is what is called stretch . As the name indicates the plastic type material 'stretches' allowing you to make a bracelet to the desired size of your wrist.  You stretch the bracelet over your hand which is wider than your wrist and the bracelet fits snuggly on your wrist.

  1. Cut the stretch to desired length. The length of the average bracelet is about 50cm as with necklaces we allow an extra 30% so work with say 70cm.
  2. Plan the design and colour arrangement you require on a tray or similar, before threading the beads.
  3. When you have placed the beads on the stretch  you tie a firm knot (You can be very firm in tying the knot!)
  4. If preferred you can add a tiny drop of nail polish or supa glue to the knot to provide a stronger bond.
  5. Tuck the knot in to the last bead so it doesn't show.

Now you know how to make a bracelet!
